Spot on!

Glad you attended and I am grateful to have you as one of my senators.

Donna_H's avatar

Absolutely! I completely agree. Senator Kelly is a rock of stability in these unstable, frightening times.

I so appreciate hearing from you. Your credibility adheres to high standards. We need strong and clear minded Americans speaking to us.

Canyonhiket's avatar

Thank you, Se. Kelly

We need more voices like yours, loud and clear; front and center, to counter the noise coming from the current administration.

I am sincerely hoping you decide to run for president. We are in desperate need for a leader whose oath is to the Constitution, the Rule of Law. There are many qualified Democrats that can, and will run, but I believe you are our best chance to bring order out of the chaos we live in today.

Tom Prorok's avatar

Yes Senator, run for president. You would win

Canyonhiket's avatar

We all need to pass the word, and talk up Kelly as a choice to run. Call his office. Write him an email, supporting his running. Contribute to his campaign if he opts to run. Campaign for him , speak out for him emphatically, listing his sterling qualities and qualifications as our would-be president.

The more he and his office hear this from Americans, the better his chance of running. And winning.

I would gladly work for Kelly's Presidential campaign........make calls, knock on doors, mail fliers. I have written his office and the DNC.

I’m hoping Kelly /his staff read these posts and he gives serious thoughts to running . I believe he would sweep the election.

Tom Prorok's avatar

I agree, I can think of no one with more earned trust and integrity. I believe Senator Kelly is the American we need to repair our damaged republic

Canyonhiket's avatar

He is the antithesis of what’s destroying us as a nation .

He’s everything Trump, isn’t, or ever will be.

Kelly brings honor and integrity into every thing he does.

Happy Presidents Day Senator Kelly! May you be our future president 💙

I'm another of your proud constituents, and I agree and would support you and work hard to get you elected.

Whether he runs or not, we need more leaders who see governing as responsibility, not performance art.

This is a battle for democracy in a deeply polarized America. This is less about party & more about preserving Democracy. The Fin Times “Democratic Backsliding…” Jan 31, is clear. There are a few years remaining w/ this adm… An electable candidate who can unequivocally take on this bunch is needed. We need not pussyfoot around w/wannabe Presidential candidates in this situation. Americans need a leader & allies. This is a bad bunch. Thank you.

Thank you for your service in our military and in our government. The values, decorum, honor and steadfastness to what makes the United States its unique self has been shown through you and your lifetime of work. Thank you.

Thank you, Senator Kelly. Now get all the rest of the Dems to STOP VOTING TO CONFIRM THE FASCIST'S JUDGES. And stop that voter-suppression bill from the House; the SAVE Act. You may have to smack Fettermanchin upside the head once or twice; maybe not, he's too far gone down the pedophile protectors' Nazi path.

Senator Kelly, that sounds like the core of a campaign statement. Let’s go!

Thank you Senator Mark Kelly. You are a breath of fresh air.

Thank you Senator Kelly for sharing this information. For me listening to Marco Rubio’s speech felt like watching every ugly American stereotype play out on stage in real time — the idea that might makes right, that we’re the unquestioned moral authority of the world, and that projecting dominance is the same thing as leadership.

It’s not just arrogant. It’s rhetorically dangerous, diplomatically risky, and profoundly tone-deaf — especially in a room full of allies whose trust depends on humility as much as strength. There’s a biblical warning that comes to mind: how can you point out the splinter in your neighbor’s eye while ignoring the one in your own? Lecturing the world about what it’s doing wrong rings hollow when we’re still struggling to confront our own failures at home.

Perhaps more apt is, "Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."

Winston Smith London Oceania's avatar

He was just parroting what Stephen Miller told him to say.

Dorothy's avatar

I'm beginning to believe that Marco has been lobotomized.

Winston Smith London Oceania's avatar

Impossible. That requires having a brain to begin with.

Hope, But Verify's avatar

Brainless sycophants is a description that fits pretty much every cabinet member in this administration.

Dorothy's avatar

Lol! Excellent point! 😄

Strength and humility aren’t opposites. The strongest partnerships usually require both.

Outstanding post

Thank you so much for your words!!! I am so hoping you run for President in the 2028 election. I already have a yard sign staked in my front yard, "Mark Kelly for President 2028." And a bumper sticker is coming! This is the first time I have ever publicized my support for any political position, but this is important, and I believe you have the unique qualities & experience to help us out of this quagmire!

Thank you Senator Kelly! "FIGHT LIKE HELL!"

For the supposed greatest salesman, DT (the worst of any generation) should know that it is easier to keep a customer (country) happy than to gain a new one (country). I hope the next president, after DT, will be able to mend the ties that bound our friendships in the first place.

How about standing up a shadow State Department?

Show how Americans benefit from strong alliances, honest diplomacy, humanitarian aid and for standing up for democratic values around the world.

Karat's avatar

There should be a shadow department of everything.

Karen McCurdy's avatar

has anyone told marco rubio that he’s not white?

Winston Smith London Oceania's avatar

We can say the same for Enrique Tarrio and Nick Fuentes. Would any of them listen? I wouldn't bet on it.

Dorothy's avatar

I was thinking the same thing, but not in polite, politically correct terms. 😄

Only Congress can declare war or cancel a treaty. Congress must step up and make any president clearly define the use of emergency powers. Trump has even used an emergency in the area of trade imposing tariffs which clearly is not an immediate economic emergency for the world’s largest economy. .
